What is a rucksack?

For almost 40 years, our museum visitors have been sliding down our well-known wooden sack slide down 3 floors. To ensure a good slide, you sit on an old flour sack from the Wehrli mill. Voilà - you've got yourself a sack slide!

These old jute sacks made of herringbone jute have reached the end of their life and urgently needed to be replaced this summer. Our head of the mill and mediator Andreas Bommer had a wonderful idea - the new jute bags were a bit pale without a bag stamp or mill logo. So he was able to persuade the polygraphy vocational school classes at the Zurich School of Design to design and print bag logos. Under the direction of René Wäger and Jorge Ruiz from the SFGZ, 127 designs by 21 polygraphy students were presented within a short space of time. We had the wonderful task of making a selection.
What you now see on the new slide bags is one bag stamp per learner! A visit to the museum is worthwhile for this alone.

Many thanks to Alex, Ariana, Moorea, Lena, Nina, Mila, Melina, Anja, Rebecca, Aurora, Adelina, Ainhoa, Gioia, Jenna, Solaia, Lana, Jessi, Mia, Shin, Polina, Luna, Liam, Sophie!
Some of the designs can be purchased as postcards in the museum store.
